VACCE
The Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (VACCE), administered by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, is an alliance of chamber executives representing large and small chambers of commerce from localities throughout the state. VACCE strives to develop the professional skills of chamber executives, staff and volunteer leaders. The Association also provides a forum for integrating the work of the local chambers of commerce to contribute to the growth and development not only of local communities but also to our Commonwealth.

Chamber Executive of the Year Award

At the Annual Meeting held recently in Warrenton, the Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives presented Teresa Beale, IOM, Executive Director of the Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber with the “Chamber Executive of the Year" Award for her outstanding service and many accomplishments. Ms. Beale was not able to attend the meeting due to a death in the family and her Immediate Past President, Clyde Parker, accepted the award in her absence.

Lifetime Achievement Award 2010

Bob Hershberger, recently retired Executive Vice President of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance was presented the VACCE Past Presidents’ Lifetime Achievement Award at its Annual Meeting in Warrenton. Nancy Pool, Past President of VACCE, noted that “Bob has served as a Chamber leader for many years and has been a friend and mentor to countless chamber professionals. He has been a courageous role model, generous in sharing both his time and talents, which in turn has enabled our organization and many of us personally to become more successful.”

The Past Presidents’ of VACCE created the award to be given to a person who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the chamber profession. Nancy continued noting, “It was appropriate that the first Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Hugh Keogh. I believe Bob Hershberger’s service to VACCE and Virginia Chamber professionals make him a worthy recipient of this very special award at this year’s Annual Meeting in Warrenton.” Bob is pictured above with his wife Margaret.
