"Thanks to you and your team for its work in this year's assembly. The tax "discussion" was a substantial one and it's clear the Chamber's strong and consistent position on "modest and reasonable" new taxation had an effect on the ultimate outcome.
I'm pleased by the defeat of most of the proposals to impose sales taxes on business inputs. A sales tax on advertising would have put an unreasonable burden on our firm. That said, it's clear we must stay engaged in the future to ensure that the revenues raised by this measure keep Virginia an extremely attractive place to live, work, and own a business."
